Mental health disorders are rising at alarming rates, both in the U.S. and worldwide. This is a cause close to my heart, especially after a friend's daughter recently struggled with one of these challenges. Drawing from my experience, I was able to help her regain optimal function and resolve many of her symptoms. We did this by working through a list of possible causes, and the correcting these over time. Like many going through a crisis, she was initially given medications to help stabilize her. These are often necessary as many are in a crisis. However, I feel these could be considered a short term bandaid and one chapter of a potential 10 chapter book.
In her case, she had some gene mutations affecting her production and balance of neurotransmitters, deficiencies in cellular nutrition, stress and cortisol imbalances, blood sugar imbalances, some hormonal imbalances, HP Axis involvement, and some gut issues. All causative to her sudden bipolar symptoms.
*Epigenetics can play a significant role in these conditions, and I would encourage you to read more about this topic under the cause section on this site.
I want to share some insight into how I approach this and help you determine if this plan might be right for you.
Here’s how I work to address mental health conditions in a more comprehensive, holistic way:
1. Beyond the Diagnosis: Rather than focusing solely on a mental health label, I see these diagnoses as markers of underlying body dysfunction. When we address the root issues, the symptoms can be reduced, or go away.
2. Functional Testing & Treatment: My approach involves pinpointing bodily dysfunctions through specialized testing and then targeting them with a personalized treatment plan. In many cases, we can reduce or even eliminate the need for long-term medication by fixing the underlying issues. *See causes and testing to identify, below.
3. Comprehensive, Lasting Solutions: Standard treatments often rely on medication as the sole solution. This is not necessarily bad, as I do believe there is necessity in many of the cases I see. But it’s my belief that it's just one chapter of a 10-chapter book. My plan is designed to cover all chapters to maximize healing and long-term stability.
Anxiety Disorders
Bipolar and Mood disorders
Schizophrenia Spectrum
OCD
ADHD
Oppositional Defiant
Insomnia
**Metal health issues, and symptoms, very often have multiple causes. When a healthcare provider gives a medication, it does not, and cannot, address these many causes. That is not to say the medication is not needed, or not helpful, because it may be necessary for many. At least short term to help stabilize symptoms quickly. It is, however, just one chapter of a 10 or 20 chapter book. Addressing these causes is critical to long term outcomes.
Our approach combines cutting-edge testing with personalized protocols to heal at the root level.
Schedule for initial consultation and testing. (See Contact Form Below) The initial steps also focus on immediate symptoms and “low-hanging fruit,” such as medication needed, dietary changes, lifestyle adjustments, and basic vitamin and mineral deficiencies for cellular support.
Short and mid-term health goals include addressing many of the root causes such as epigenetics, restoring gut health, balancing stress and sex hormones, regulating sleep, detoxifying from heavy metals, managing environmental toxins, and addressing any underlying infections to provide comprehensive care for sustained brain health and resilience.
Longer term goals include retesting and re-evaluations making changes and modifications as needed throughout care.
This approach brings a new perspective to mental health, one that goes far beyond managing symptoms. It provides a roadmap for real healing, so you can experience stability, vitality, and well-being.
